# How to Store Fish Feed

Poorly stored feed loses nutritional value, and FCR suffers with it. Storage is a hidden but important part of the feed budget.

## Storage conditions

- Cool and dry: ideally below 25 °C with low humidity.

- Away from direct sunlight.

- On pallets, away from walls and floor.

- Protected against rodents and insects.

## FIFO and expiry dates

The first feed in should be the first used. Recording each lot’s receipt and expiry dates lets you spot ageing feed in time.
