## FOB Calculator: what you need to know

The FOB price is the price of the goods loaded on board at the port of loading: packing, inland transport, export clearance and port charges are added to the ex-works price. It is the most common way exporters quote.
**Expert tip:** FOB is for sea transport only; for container cargo, where risk passes at the terminal, quoting FCA is often more correct.
