How to use: Pallet Calculator

  1. Enter your own values: Pallet length, Pallet width, Maximum load height (incl. pallet), Pallet maximum load, Carton length, Carton width, Carton height, Carton weight.
  2. Results are calculated as you type: Cartons per layer, Number of layers, Cartons per pallet, Pallet gross weight.
  3. Check every step of the calculation in the formulas below.

How is it calculated?

  • Cartons per layer = fit2([Pallet length]; [Pallet width]; [Carton length]; [Carton width])
  • Number of layers = floor(([Maximum load height (incl. pallet)] − 15) ÷ [Carton height])
  • Cartons per pallet = min([Cartons per layer] × [Number of layers]; floor([Pallet maximum load] ÷ [Carton weight]))
  • Pallet gross weight = [Cartons per pallet] × [Carton weight] + 25
  • Pallet volume = [Pallet length] × [Pallet width] × ([Number of layers] × [Carton height] + 15) ÷ 1,000,000

Frequently asked questions

How is Pallet Calculator calculated?

Calculate cartons per pallet, number of layers, pallet gross weight and volume under height and weight limits. The calculation uses Cargo Fit Engine: Finds the best arrangement and utilization rate from carton, pallet and container dimensions under volume and weight limits.

How is Cartons per pallet found?

Cartons per pallet = min([Cartons per layer] × [Number of layers]; floor([Pallet maximum load] ÷ [Carton weight])). With the example values (Pallet length 120 cm, Pallet width 80 cm, Maximum load height (incl. pallet) 160 cm, Pallet maximum load 1,000 kg, Carton length 60 cm, Carton width 40 cm) the result is 12 pcs.

Worked example: Pallet Calculator
